Nominees must be in the 11th grade, have earned a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and have made a contribution to their school or community in some way.
We ask that each school counseling office nominate only one deserving student for this award. Affiliation or interest in UVM is not a condition of the award. The award is simply designed to recognize outstanding citizens on the road to their pursuit of higher education, wherever that may lead. Students from all backgrounds are eligible for this award, but students with a strong sense of cultural competency fare favorably. The goal is to select a dynamic population of students that reflect the spirit of what it means to be an engaged citizen.
After nominations close on March 1, 2025, the admissions committee will deliberate and select winners. Recipients and their counselors will be notified in April 2025.
A nomination does not guarantee an award. Late or incomplete nominations will not be considered.
